Obituary for Glen Franklin Rupert

Glen Franklin Rupert
April 23, 1950 - January 21, 2021

After years of battling illness, Glen passed surrounded by his loving family.

Dear husband of Kathy (Reid) Rupert for 48 years. Beloved dad of Steven and Julie of Ottawa, Stefanie of Frankford, and Nickolas of Toronto. Loved grandpa of Xavier and Oliver Rupert, and Colton and Kadence Legros. Dear brother of Phil and Pat Rupert of Belleville. Brother-in-Law of Keith and Linda Reid of Frankford. Lovingly remembered by Danielle Barbeau and Gil Matte. Dear uncle of Lynn and John Stevenson, Pam, Paul, Christie and Penny Reid, Cheryl, Brent and Jolene Rupert, and 10 great nieces and nephews. Daddy will be missed by his fur-babies, Ellie and Abby.

Glen will be sorely missed by friends Debbie Orr (and the late Greg Orr), Cathy and Randy Steenburg, Rob and Lisa Dallman and Rick Andrews. He will be dearly missed by his long-time friend and fishing buddy Bill Brereton and his Riverland family. He will be fondly remembered by the “Beer Bash” crew and many more friends.

Predeceased by his parents Edward and Evelyn (Dunkley) Rupert, brothers Gary and Bob Rupert, and beloved grandson Hudson Legros.

The love of Glen’s life was his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and camping. Glen took great pride and joy in sharing his fishing knowledge, techniques, and stories with his children and grandchildren. He was an accomplished carpenter. “The Cabin” in Madawaska will always be cherished as his favourite construction and retreat.

With a wave of his hand, Glen would say “Don’t look back, rip off the rear-view mirror. You can’t change what happened so keep going ahead”.

Due to the current conditions, the family will be having a Drive Thru visitation at the Rushnell Funeral Centre 60 Division St., Trenton on Sunday, January 24th, 2021 from 1:30p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Due to maximum restrictions in place, people are to call the funeral home (613-392-2111) and book for a 10 minute time slot no later than 4:00 p.m on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021. People are to remain in their vehicles upon arrival of the funeral home. Masks must be worn while paying respects to the family. No formal dress code is required at request of the family.
